Carlos’ Mexican Style
Family Dining
1500 Sunset Strip – Mountain Home, Idaho 83647 – Phone
208-587-2966
Carlos’ Mexican Style Family Dining started November
2, 1989 by Carlos and Bo Stinnett, along with their three children, Donda,
Kimberly and Victor.
The three children, Donda Varela, Kimberly
Hartman and Victor Stinnett helped start the business all working various hours
of the day and taking different roles from cooking, waiting tables, cashier,
and even bookkeeping all while raising their own families. Carlos, retired Air
Force, continued to work at the base during the day, moonlighting at the
restaurant as P.R., and cashier. Bo worked very hard days and nights, sometimes
16 to 18 hours a day.
In 2003 Carlos and Bo were ready to travel
and live a lifestyle that was a bit more relaxed. Kimberly approached her
parents about buying the restaurant and in October of 2003 became the new
owner.
Carlos and Bo implemented a good business
ethic in their children. Kimberly and her sister Donda continue to serve their
mother’s same delicious homemade recipes.
Carlos and Bo are taking it easy these days,
as they are Great Grandparents now.
You can expect warm and friendly service
whether it is for a family night out or for you business meeting.

Karl J. Smith – Mountain Home, Idaho - Phone (208) 587-5268
Karl Smith, the owner of Custom Woodworking,
founded his cabinet shop at its present location in 1977. He says,” When my wife
and I moved into this property in 1975, the mobile home was the only building
on the property.” The shop, which is mostly built of salvaged materials, has
been five different sizes over the years and is currently about 2000 sq. feet.
I have no formal schooling in woodwork. I
first worked in wood manufacturing with a bee keeper out north of Mountain Home
named Dave Koch. He was something of a mechanical wizard who built not only his
own honey bee equipment, but several of the machines he used to build it with.
He was a rather persnickety craftsman who demanded the most precise and quality
work. It was an excellent apprenticeship.
I have, over the years, been involved with
just about every type of woodwork imaginable, from antique vehicle restorations
to cabinets for Geodesic Domes. The only limitation I adhere to has to do with
scale. Some jobs are just too large. I’m a one man shop and my focus is on
satisfying my clients one at a time, and expanding my own education and skills.
I offer Dovetail & Mortise and Tenon construction techniques and cut and
assemble all my work here in my shop. I have often said I feel most fulfilled
when a client, while writing the final check on a job, tells me, “I don’t know
how you did it, but it’s exactly what I wanted.”

Edward D. Jones & Co., L.P., since 1995
simplified as Edward Jones is a brokerage and investment advisory headquartered
in St. Louis, Missouri which serves investment clients in the United States and
Canada, through its branch network of more than 12,000 locations. The firm
focuses solely on individual investors and small-business owners. Edward Jones
is a limited partnership and is not traded publicly on stock exchanges.
Edward Jones financial advisors sell
commission-based and fee-based financial products. Offices are usually staffed
by two associates: one Financial Advisor and one Branch Office Administrator.
The one-broker-per-office model allows clients to choose their broker directly
and deal with just that broker. This model also allows the firm to open offices
in areas and towns where a large office staffed by many brokers would be
unprofitable. This model is also the reason that Edward Jones currently has the
largest number of branch offices among brokerage firms in the United States.
Patrick C. Cruser, Financial Advisor, heads
up the Edward Jones office located on American Legion Blvd. in Mountain Home.
With the help of Shannan Bate, Branch Office Administrator, they look forward
to helping you plan your individual or small-business investments.
“I entered the financial-services industry
because I like helping people achieve their long-term financial goals, Patrick
said. “Building relationships with my clients and in my community is key.”

Gus’s Gas initially started out as Gus’s
Barber Shop and Grand View Laundry Mat in 1969, by Richard “Gus” and Linda
Gustavson. In March, 1978, because of a
need for a gas station, a regular and supreme gas pump was installed and the
business became known as Gus’s Gas. About six months later they added diesel
& propane.
In 1979 Gus put in a car wash and then
expanded the store to include fishing and hunting supplies. When Gus passed
away in 1994, Linda closed up the laundry and barber shop.
Gus’s Gas has an assortment of fishing
equipment and supplies to accommodate the trout fisherman to the heavy duty
sturgeon fisherman. They also sell fishing licenses and duck stamps. There is
also a selection of tools, automotive accessories and a small convenient store.

in hopes of selling it so she can retire. “I have made a lot of friends over
the years and appreciate the loyalty of all the people that have made this
business such a success,” said Linda. “When I do retire, I will miss them all!”

Nyssa Tractor & Implement
3212 Highway 201 – Nyssa, Oregon 97913 – Phone
541-372-4020
Nyssa Tractor Salvage was founded in 1992 by
brothers, Gary and Larry Sparks. Larry contributed modern day farming practices
and intense cultivation terminology to the corporation. Gary contributed the
wide customer base from the auction business, the knowledge of current market
trends and retail customer philosophy. In 1992, Nyssa Tractor Salvage, Inc had
one full time employee.
Many things have changed in eight short
years. Larry has retired from the retail business. In 1995, Mike Penn came on
board and has taken over the managerial responsibility. Mike is very
knowledgeable in all aspects of agriculture. However his favorite machinery to
work on is the hay tools.
Gary has continued to be aggressive in
inventory control by purchasing both salvage units as well as whole goods. In
1999, Gary spent 158 nights on the road so don't be surprised when you call if
Gary isn't in, but feel free to leave a message or work with Mike.
Here in the Lower Snake River Valley there
are two hundred different crops grown in a fifty mile radius. This justifies
the distinct intense cultivation in the valley, thus we handle a large amount
of cultivator tools, harvest equipment and tillage tools. So if you have a
special need or a question that no one else can answer give us a call. We have
many years experience in farm equipment. Give them a call at (541) 372-4020 or

Taco John’s
400 North 3rd East – Mountain Home, Idaho
83647 – Phone 208-587-5832
Before Taco John’s became what it is today,
it was formerly started as The Taco House in 1968 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Taco
House was a huge hit with its customers because of the unique seasonings the
products were made with. Taco House was most famous for its mouth-watering
tacos and over portioned burritos.
In 1969, Harold Holmes and James Woodson
bought the franchise rights and changed the name to what it is today, Taco
John’s. Three of the first stores were opened in Scottsbluff, Nebraska;
Torrington, Wyoming and Rapid City, South Dakota. Taco John’s restaurants were
focused on being introduced to small rural communities rather than large urban
areas.
As of today, there are 425 Taco John’s in 25
different states. The majorities are located in the Central and North Central
section of the United States.
At Taco John’s you are going to receive a
generous helping of seasoned meats, delicious potato oles cooked to your desire
and flavored cheese. They hand fry their own taco shells, salad bowls and
nachos daily to ensure the best quality of food to their customers. They are
also known for making some of the tastiest quesadillas around town, as well as
a much preferred pico de gallo. In fact, they have several customers who come
just to purchase their homemade sauces such as their famous super hot and house
dressing.
In 1976, Taco John’s of Mountain Home opened
and their employees have been striving to provide a fast meal that is delivered
with prompt, courteous service and at a fair price. To top all that off, is a
generous portion of tasty ingredients. At Taco John’s they see their customers
as family and want them to return and leave with a smile. Great customer service
is what it’s all about to make it all happen.
Taco John’s Promise: “We will always serve a
generous portion of high quality, fresh tasting Mexican food for a fair price.
Every menu item will be carefully prepared using the best ingredients, West Mex
flavor and attitude. Our service will be efficient and friendly, and our
restaurant will be clean and pleasant.”

Trail Break RV Park
432 N Bannock Street – Glenns Ferry, Idaho 83623
– Phone 208-366-7745
Trail Break RV Park was established around 1949. At that time it was
named the Trails West Trailer Court and Campground. The trailers were small and
carried names like Fireball, Shasta, Aristocrat, Airstream and Scotty. Two of
these trailers could be parked on a space that now accommodates only one large
motorcoach. Times have changed and so have the owners. It has changed hands
numerous times over the years. In the early 1950’s part of the park was
acquired by the state for the construction of a bypass road. Today we refer to
this road as “Old Highway 30” or Frontage Road. The park acquired what was left
of 4th Avenue from Elmore Street to Bannock Street.
Trails West became the
Trail Break RV Park about ten years ago. It is now operated as an RV Park and Campground.
New owners acquired the park in October, 2005. Since then extensive renovation
of the main building has taken place. A western style facade was added and old
west memorabilia can be found adorning the building’s walls. In addition many
old dead trees have been removed and new trees, shrubs and a waterfall have
been added. Tent spaces were created in the east ‘meadow’ with small fire pits,
grills and picnic tables. Many of the mature trees are still providing shade
and respite from the hot summer sun to RVer’s and tent campers. There are now
28 full hookup sites and 8 tent sites. Restrooms with showers and a laundry
room beckon to tired travelers or weekend guests. Cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a small
play area for children are also available.
The Trail Break RV Park is
located within the city limits of Glenns Ferry at 432 N Bannock Street. It is
open all year. If you are coming to visit our town, stop and say hello.
